Why I Rebranded My Design Studio

And How to Know When Your Brand No Longer Feels Aligned

Redesigning your own brand as a designer is confronting.

There’s no client brief.

No external expectations.

No one else to project onto.

Just you, and the uncomfortable question:

Does this still feel true?

When I decided to rebrand Studio Aigo, it wasn’t because I wanted something trendier or more polished.

It was because something felt off.

And if you’ve ever felt that quiet disconnect in your own business, you’ll probably recognize what comes next.

When Your Brand No Longer Feels Aligned

At first, it wasn’t obvious.

From the outside, everything looked fine.

My brand identity felt cohesive.
My website design was polished.
My work was consistent.
But behind the scenes, something wasn’t flowing the way it used to.

I noticed it in small moments:

I felt uninspired when creating content

I hesitated before sharing my website

I kept adjusting small details without ever feeling satisfied

I was designing around what I thought my brand should look like

Nothing was “wrong”.

But nothing felt fully right either.

And that’s often how brand misalignment shows up.

Why I Rebranded My Design Studio

The truth is, my work had evolved.

My branding process had become slower and more intentional.

The way I approached brand identity design had deepened.

The kind of clients I wanted to work with had shifted.

But my brand hadn’t caught up yet.

It was still reflecting an earlier version of my work, my process, and the type of projects I wanted to attract.

And that gap created friction.

Not always visible from the outside

but very real from within

That’s when I knew it wasn’t about updating visuals.

It was about building a brand that felt aligned with where I am now.

My Intentional Branding Process (Applied to My Own Studio)

Instead of jumping straight into design, I paused.

And I approached my own brand the same way I approach my client projects.

I went back to the beginning.

I asked myself the same questions I ask the founders I work with:

If Studio Aigo was a place, what would it feel like?
What do I want to be known for?
What kind of experience do I want to create?
What feels natural, and what feels forced?

I removed what no longer felt aligned.

I kept only what felt true.

Not what looked good

not what performed well

but what actually reflected my work and values

What Rebranding Really Means

Rebranding is often misunderstood.

It’s not about changing how your brand looks.

It’s not about following trends or starting over for the sake of it.

A meaningful rebrand is about:

gaining clarity on your direction
aligning your brand identity with your evolution
creating a cohesive brand experience across every touchpoint

It’s about building something that supports your growth

not something you’ll outgrow in a few months

Signs It Might Be Time to Rebrand Your Business

If you’re wondering whether it might be time to rebrand, here are a few signs:

Your brand looks professional, but doesn’t feel like you
You feel disconnected when showing up online
Your business has evolved, but your brand hasn’t
You’re attracting clients that don’t feel aligned
You keep making small changes, but nothing truly solves the problem

If this resonates, it doesn’t necessarily mean you need a completely new direction.

It might simply mean your brand needs to catch up with who you’ve become.

A More Intentional Approach to Brand Identity Design

This experience reinforced something I deeply believe:

A brand is not something you create from scratch.

It’s something you uncover.

Through clarity

through intention

through the right questions

That’s what allows a brand to feel aligned, not just visually appealing.

And that’s the foundation of every branding project I take on.

If your brand no longer feels aligned, you’re not alone.

And you don’t need to force a completely new version of your business.

Sometimes, the answer is already there, it just needs to be clarified and brought forward
